TECHNICAL ISSUE DETAILS
These Big Twins come with a SINGLE PHASE (two wire) stator and regulator/rectifier. These systems have poor low rpm output. Single phase stators also tend to get very hot due to the high current that needs to be supplied through a single winding. Stator failure due to the winding overheating is a very common problem in these single phase systems. The regulator/rectifiers also have a rough life in single phase configuration. The current through the units for a given output is very high, resulting in poor reliability. The solution: convert your system to a modern 3-PHASE configuration. Three phase is the way to go: it offers excellent low-rpm performance and the current that is supplied is split over THREE windings, which dramatically lowers the winding temperature. Electronicamotos's Big Twin 3-Phase Charging System offers superior output at any rpm, drastically reduces heat and will give you fantastic charging output at idle rpm. Our replacement stators perform well in ANY magnet flywheel on the bike. (You don't have to replace the flywheel) NOTE: You will have to replace Stator AND regulator/rectifier together. Our ESR850 Regulator/Rectifier offers high power 3-Phase circuitry that allows for a very efficient AC to DC conversion to charge your battery and feed your electrical accessories.
