Common Technical Issues: SUZUKI RM125

BRAND: SUZUKI
MODEL: RM125
YEARS: 96-97
CATEGORY: DIRT BIKE

TECHNICAL ISSUE DETAILS
The stator on these RM125 models consists of a plate with a pickup coil and a 6-pole stator on which ONLY TWO OR THREE poles are wound as a source coil providing power for the CDI. Ignition failure causes: 1) Bad stator source coil, which is a very common fault. Check the resistance of the stock stator. Replace with ESC468 (ignition only) or ESL468 (ignition & lighting output) 2) CDI unit failed. Not as common. Replace the CDI if the stator, ignition coil and all connections test out fine and the bike still has no spark.
